What is Ultra Glo Laser Resurfacing?

Lutronic Ultra uses fractional 1927 nm thulium laser energy to treat selected areas of skin. It is a non-ablative resurfacing option used in plans for tone and texture.

A consultation helps distinguish sun-related pigment from concerns that need medical assessment. Melasma can recur or worsen with inflammation, so it needs a carefully individualized plan rather than a promise of permanent removal.

What to expect at your appointment

Plan and protect
Review your skin history, recent sun exposure, medicines, and goals. The practitioner explains comfort measures and provides appropriate laser eye protection.
The treatment
The handpiece moves across the agreed area. You may feel heat or prickling. Settings and coverage are chosen for your skin; tell the practitioner if discomfort becomes difficult.
Settle and recover
Your skin may feel warm and appear pink or red. Before leaving, confirm cleansing, moisturizer, sun protection, and the timing of your next check-in.

Your treatment questions, answered

Is a consultation required?

Yes. A consultation is mandatory before laser resurfacing, microneedling and chemical peels at Aimee’s Skin Spa. We review your skin, health and treatment history, goals, likely downtime and the recommended treatment area before you book corrective care.

How much downtime should I plan for?

Mild redness, swelling, and a warm sensation may follow. Your skin can develop a dry, sandpaper-like feel for several days as it renews. The manufacturer describes dryness commonly settling around 5–7 days; individual recovery can be longer.

Do not scrub away roughness or pick at darkened spots. Plan extra time before events if you have not experienced your own response to this treatment.

How should I prepare?

Bring your skincare, medication and supplement list, allergies and recent treatment history. Avoid tanning and sunburn. Ask which active skincare products and hair-removal methods to pause; do not stop prescribed medication without your prescriber’s advice.

What aftercare will I need?

Follow your written cleansing and moisturizer instructions. Treat the rough phase gently and avoid scrubs, exfoliating brushes, retinoids, and acids until cleared.

Minimize direct sun. Use shade and protective clothing, then the approved broad-spectrum sunscreen as directed. A tan is not part of recovery.

Ask when you may resume makeup, workouts, hot showers, sauna, swimming, and other facial treatments. Timing depends on the settings and your skin response.

When might treatment need to wait?

Discuss pregnancy or breastfeeding, current infection or cold sores, open or irritated skin, recent tanning, pigment changes, keloids, healing problems, and recent cosmetic procedures.

Disclose isotretinoin, photosensitizing medicines, immune suppression, and allergies to numbing products. Burns, blistering, prolonged redness, infection, scarring, and darkening or lightening of skin are possible. Eye protection must stay in place as directed.

How many treatments will I need?

Aimee will review progress and decide whether another laser visit, a combination plan, or maintenance best fits your goals. The Total Skin Reset combination requires its own discussion of both procedures and recovery.
