Microneedling in Andover, MA

Thoughtful treatment for the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and uneven texture, with care that starts by listening to you.

A treatment plan built around you

Fine needles create controlled microchannels to support the skin’s renewal response. A planned series may improve the appearance of certain acne scars, fine lines and uneven texture over time. This service is conventional microneedling.

Aimee takes time to understand what is bothering you, what you have already tried, and how treatment will fit your schedule. Your skin history and goals guide the recommendation. Results and recovery vary; your plan is reviewed as your skin responds.

What is Microneedling?

Fine needles make controlled, small punctures in the skin. The healing response can improve the appearance of certain scars and wrinkles over time. The device, treatment area, and your skin history determine what is appropriate.

This guide covers conventional microneedling. Radiofrequency microneedling, injectables, and PRP are different procedures and are not included in this guide or consent.

What to expect at your appointment

  1. Review and prepare

Your history, goals, and skin are reviewed before treatment. Discuss any numbing product, allergies, and the exact device being used.

  2. The treatment

After cleansing and preparation, the practitioner treats the agreed area using a new single-use needle cartridge. Sensations can include prickling or scratching; pinpoint bleeding may occur.

  3. Your recovery plan

Before leaving, confirm which products may touch your skin, when you may wash, and when makeup, exercise, swimming, and active skincare can resume.

Your treatment questions, answered

Is a consultation required?

Yes. A consultation is mandatory before laser resurfacing, microneedling and chemical peels at Aimee’s Skin Spa. We review your skin, health and treatment history, goals, likely downtime and the recommended treatment area before you book corrective care.

How much downtime should I plan for?

Expect some redness, tenderness, tightness, or swelling early on. Dryness, flaking, bruising, and pinpoint bleeding can occur. Recovery depends on the device and treatment intensity; allow a buffer before important events.

The early refreshed appearance is not the final result. Changes in scar appearance and texture develop gradually, and more than one session may be needed. Your next visit depends on healing and the device protocol.

How should I prepare?

Bring your skincare, medication and supplement list, allergies and recent treatment history. Avoid tanning and sunburn. Ask which active skincare products and hair-removal methods to pause; do not stop prescribed medication without your prescriber’s advice.

What aftercare will I need?

Use only products specifically cleared for freshly treated skin. Do not apply a new serum, retinoid, acid, or ordinary cosmetic simply because it is labeled “healing” or “hyaluronic acid.”

Avoid touching, picking, scrubbing, heat, heavy sweating, and swimming until your instructions allow them. Protect your skin with shade and a hat; start sunscreen at the time specified in your written protocol.

When cleansing is allowed, use clean hands and a gentle cleanser. Restart your regular actives only after the skin has recovered and your practitioner has cleared them.

When might treatment need to wait?

Tell Aimee about active breakouts, cold sores, infection, open skin, eczema or psoriasis flares, poor wound healing, keloids, bleeding concerns, diabetes, immune suppression, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and allergies to metals or anesthetics.

Disclose current or recent isotretinoin, blood thinners, and immune-affecting medicines. Treatment may need to be delayed or cleared by a qualified clinician. Risks include infection, lasting pigment changes, scarring, and cold-sore reactivation.

How many treatments will I need?

Review your response after each visit. A series may be appropriate for scars or texture; the spacing and number of sessions are agreed after assessment rather than chosen from a generic schedule.
